How to prepare?

Ingredients
  •  1/ 2 cup moong dal
  • 1/2 inch ginger
  • 1 small green chilli  (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
  • Wash the dal and soak for 2-3 hours in ample amount of water. 
  • Discard the water and grind the dals along with the ginger and green chilli to a smooth paste using water sparingly.
  • Keep the batter thick.
  • Grease idli moulds with some oil and pour batter into the moulds.
  • Steam for 15 minutes or till skewer inserted comes out clean. 
  • Serve hot with chutney or sambhar.
